Mitel 3300 System
The Mitel 3300 System is a highly scalable IP-PBX that supports Mitel Communications Director (MCD), provides extensive features, and supports a wide range of innovative desktop devices and applications for medium-to-large enterprises. The 3300 is an integral element of the Mitel communications platform portfolio of products that facilitate business-wide communication and collaboration, enhance workforce mobility and extend enterprise connectivity, improve client service and contact management, provide tools to manage communication overload, and reduce total cost of ownership.
Running the Mitel Communications Director (MCD) software, Mitel offers a familly of 3300 Controllers which allow the system to be deployed into many varied environments. The controllers offer great flexibility, as they can be deployed asa full IP-PBX with all services, trunks and legacy connections integrated, as a media gateway for larger networks, or to provide connection to legacy services for those choosing to run the MCD software on Industry Standard Servers, or as the enterprise edge for centralized networks that require survivable solutions for their remote sites.
The family comprises the:
- The 3300 CX and CXi Controllers, which can be deployed for the smaller business, or as part of the enterprise edge for large networks - in this capacity, the controllers can either be deployed as a survivable branch solution for centralized deployments, or as a dedicated PBX operating as part of a larger distributed network.
- The MXe Controller, which offers greater scalability in terms of user and trunk capacity, and also offers hard drive and power redundancy.
- The MXe Server, which can operate as a high density user controller for larger enterprise deployments.
- The AX Controller, which is ideal for high density analog requirements, either as a stand-alone solutions, or as part of a larger network deployment.
Mitel’s IP communications platforms offer embedded voicemail solutions for cost-effective voice messaging. Embedded messaging is easy to manage and delivers streamlined user administration and system management.
Users can easily and conveniently manage their voice messages with intuitive telephone prompts and integration with softkeys on Mitel telephones. Each system includes a multi-level auto-attendant to conveniently and quickly route incoming calls to their destination, and supports alternate greeting to provide callers with important information while easing the burden on reception staff.

MCD Feature: Dynamic Extension
Mitel’s Dynamic Extension ensures that where you are does not dictate how you work. Imagine being able to twin any device in the world from the heart of Mitel Communications Director and then, on top of that, being able to turn any external (or off-board) device into an internal device (getting access to IP in call features of MCD).
You can then present a single identity to the outside world, all from the core of MCD. Up to eight numbers / devices, including SIP Wi-Fi clients, create your personal ring group – visible to the outside world as a single number, affording you the ultimate in flexibility and offering your enterprise the opportunity for cost savings.

MCD Feature: Hot Desking
Hot Desking allows a user in a corporate office to log into any Mitel IP set and have their calls routed to the device at which they have logged on. As a result of the log in, the user’s profile is downloaded to the set (a user’s profile includes things like speed dials, line appearances etc). This provides a great solution for organizations who share a pool of Hot Desk phones, at which any user can log in when they are in the office.

MCD Feature: External Hot Desking
As an extension to internal Hot Desking, users can extend their Hot Desking profile to an external number. This means that should the user be away from the internal communications system, they can logon to an external device and all calls for the internal number are routed to wherever the user is located.
External Hot Desking can be configured such that the user can dial into the system (from an external number) and log in manually or the user can configure their profile to automatically route calls to the external number if they are not logged in internally.
MCD Feature: Personal Ring Group
Personal Ring Groups (PRG) allow a collection of devices (directory numbers) to be assigned into a group. All of these devices / numbers will be associated with a single user. Personal Ring Groups will allow the definition of up to eight simultaneously ringing numbers when the user’s prime number is dialled. Similarly, when any device originates a call or feature, it will take on the identity of a single user with all of their rights and permissions.
MCD Feature: Group Presence
Group Presence is a concept that allows a user to define whether they are actually present (and therefore available) to take calls for all of the groups where their extension / directory number is a member. Group Presence can be selected for voice hunt groups, Name Tag hunt groups, ring groups, Personal Ring Groups, and ACD agent groups.
